Heeren Research

The overarching objective of my research program is to enhance and improve both the sustainability of water resources (water quantity and water quality) and the profitability of agricultural production in Nebraska and the Great Plains. More specifically, I focus on irrigation engineering and management. When not at work, I spend much of my time with my wife, Amber, and our four children. I also enjoy the outdoors and church activities.

For more information about me, including my teaching program, see my faculty profile. Information on UNL educational programs in Irrigation and Agricultural Water Management is available here.
